I’m Principal at Meritology, a boutique research firm specializing in modeling business value and risk of information technology. I have worked in Silicon Valley in the computer industry for over 25 years, first with Hewlett-Packard and most recently with BearingPoint (formerly KPMG Consulting).

I’m on a quest for breakthrough ideas and insights in to business value, especially the business value of information technology. This web log is a journal of ideas, opinions, and interesting information I gather along the way. The result, hopefully, will be an ecclectic mix of ideas and information — academic, theoretical, historical, technical, and, of course, business practice.

In the past several years, I’ve focused on business value and risk associated with cyber trust, including information security, privacy, digital rights, and IP protection.
